Install DuME on Mac OS
Install the app
Two versions of DuME are available depending on your processor (CPU):
- The Arm version is for M CPUs (M1, M2, etc).
- The Intel version is for all other Intel CPUs, but should also work (slower) on Arm CPUs.
First, download the .dmg
archive, then drag and drop the DuME.app
in your Applications
folder.
When you first launch DuME, and maybe after each update, Mac OS may show a security waring or even wrongly report that the app is damaged.
This is NOT true, and this is just because we can’t afford to pay Apple to sign the application.
Fortunately, it’s easy to fix the issue on your side; you must disable the security checks for DuME:
Open the terminal and run this command xattr -d 'com.apple.quarantine' /Applications/DuME.app
which removes DuME from the quarantine.
Install the add-ons
DuME comes with a few add-ons to add some features in some DCC apps like Blender, Maya, After Effects…
On Mac OS you’ll have to install them separately from the app, depending on the DCC apps you’re using, this is explained here.
